1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ShardHex ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

2.1 Free Tier

You may use the free features of ShardHex (file splitting, merging, steganography) without charge for personal or commercial use.

2.2 Pro License

A Pro license unlocks cloud storage features. Each license permits activation on a limited number of devices as specified at the time of purchase. The license is non-transferable.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software.
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software or license keys.
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose or to process illegal content.
  • Attempt to bypass license verification or device limits.
  • Use the Software to harass, abuse, or harm others.

4. Third-Party Services

ShardHex integrates with third-party cloud storage providers. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, security, or policies of third-party services.

5. Payments & Refunds

Pro license purchases are processed by PayPal. All sales are final. Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Contact us via the in-app feedback form for refund inquiries.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SHARDHEX OR ITS DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

8. Data & File Processing

All file processing occurs locally on your device. You are solely responsible for:

  • Maintaining backups of your original files.
  • Safeguarding your manifest files and encryption keys.
  • Ensuring your use of cloud storage complies with each provider's terms.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to revoke your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy any copies.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
